A foggy day hike. Peaks that usually provide a fantastic panorama were in thick clouds just when we reached them.
Had it been clear, the views across Zürichsee and Walensee would not only have included the Glarner Alps an the lakes but also a vast network of towns and streets in the lower regions. There are few places in Switzerland that provide a feeling of human absence, especially (and paradoxically) from higher up, where the intense cultivation of the land and infrastructure is visible until far away. The clouds on this day hid most of it.
